Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use Cladra, our cladding cut-optimisation application. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
1.Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, password (stored encrypted), and, for paid plans, your organisation and billing details.
- Project data — the projects, panel sets, drawings, and files you create or upload to optimise your cuts.
- Payment information — handled by our payment provider ([e.g. Stripe]). We receive confirmation and limited details (such as the last four digits of a card), but not full card numbers.
- Usage and device information — basic technical data such as browser type, device, and how you use the app, collected to keep the Service working and to improve it.
2.How we use it
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including optimising your cut plans.
- To create and manage your account and process your subscription and payments.
- To respond to your support requests and contact you about your account or important changes.
- To send you product or marketing emails only where you've agreed — you can opt out at any time.
- To keep the Service secure and to meet our legal obligations.
3.Where your work is stored
Cladra runs in your browser and also auto-saves your work locally on your device so you don't lose progress. When you have an account, your projects are also stored on our hosting provider's servers ([e.g. provider + region]) so you can access them across sessions and devices. [Adjust this section to match how the hosted app actually stores data.]
4.Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run Cladra — such as hosting, payment processing, email, and analytics — under agreements that require them to protect your information.
- Authorities, if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
- A successor, if our business is sold or merged, in which case your information may transfer as part of that transaction.
Some providers may store or process information overseas; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable privacy protection.
5.Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond promptly to any issue.
6.Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data; we'll do so unless we're required to keep some of it.
7.Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to access the personal information we hold about you and to correct it if it's wrong. To make a request, email us at hello@getcladra.com [or your privacy contact]. If you're not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
8.Cookies and local storage
Cladra uses cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and auto-save your work. We may use limited analytics to understand how the app is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them. [Update if you add third-party analytics or advertising cookies.]
9.Children
Cladra is a tool for the building and construction trade and is not intended for children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
10.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll give reasonable notice through the app or by email. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
